My side of the story...

Hey there everyone! So while I myself actually created this lovely little blog, anyone who has followed my blogs in the past knows that I am pretty terrible at keeping them updated. Thus you have heard plenty from Danny, and literally nothing from me. Ooops. I am vowing to be better now. Anyway, for all of you who know Danny but not me, and really just for anyone who would like to know, here is our story, from my point of view.

Danny and I met here in 2006:

Yes, that is the Harold B. Lee Library at Brigham Young University. The way he tells the story, he walks up to me all smooth like and strikes up a conversation where I immediately swoon and fall in love, but I promise I was a little harder to get than that.

Anyone who is friends with either of us were insanely surprised to hear that we were engaged. Over the past 5 years, I have kind of put this sweet boy through the ringer. There were many obstacles in our path to wedded bliss; I will spare you the gory details, but at the beginning I was waiting on a missionary to come home, in the middle there were a few really not great semi-boyfriends, and in the end there was a fateful move back east in which I realized what I really wanted out of this topsy turvy relationship we had. Throughout it all, I knew that Danny was always there. I think I always knew that we would end up together, but for some reason (I blame it on me being maybe a little too independent) I needed to test the limits of his love.

I was worried that when I got back from my move that things would be different between us, but I was pleasantly surprised to find that we quickly fell back into the happy, comfortable relationship we have always had. After a couple months of spending time together, I realized how supremely dumb I had been and that while I had been searching for the right guy, the right situation, and the right life, I had failed to see that they were standing right in front of me the whole time.

The past few months of our engagement have been joyful, encouraging, and at times trying. I feel closer to Danny than I ever have and I cannot wait to be his wife and eternal companion. He truly is an honest, caring, hardworking and all around loving person. He is everything I have ever looked for in a companion and although it took me a while to see it, I see it now and I'm not giving it up for anything in the world.

I promise to keep the blog updated with what we are up to, more wedding plans and where our lives are headed. Thank you for all of your love and support of us and we cannot wait to share this fantastic journey with all of you!
